You Can Book the Byers’ California Home from ‘Stranger Things’ on Vrbo

Have you been missing “Stranger Things” since Season 4’s epic finale aired this summer?  Then why not stay in the Byers’ very own home while enduring the long wait for the Netflix show’s fifth and final season?

That’s right, the family’s California home from Season 4 is currently available to rent on Vrbo. Fans may remember that the show’s Hawkins, Indiana scenes are actually filmed in Georgia. Likewise, the California scenes weren’t actually filmed in The Golden State. Instead, the Byers’ California home is actually based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The real house has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, and can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests. According to the official Vrbo listing, the space is, fittingly, ‘70s and ‘80s-inspired. The basement is even ‘80s-themed, featuring arcade games, ping pong, and air hockey games. It also has a Christmas lights wall pulled straight out of “Stranger Things” Season 1, making it a perfect photoshoot backdrop.

While visiting New Mexico, fans can also check out some of the area’s “Stranger Things” filming locations. You can lace up your skates at Skate-O-Mania, where Eleven’s confrontation with local bully Angela was filmed. Other notable spots include Eldorado High School (which stands in as Will, Eleven, and Jonathan’s high school) and the Albuquerque International Sunport (the airport where Eleven arrives to visit Mike).

Unsurprisingly, the Byers house is in high demand, and availability for the coming year is scarce. However, you can check out the full listing and keep an eye out for openings here.

The rental joins a growing number of real-life “Stranger Things” homes that have made the news lately. The house that stood in as the Byers family’s original Hawkins home is currently on the market for $300,000 in Fayetteville, Georgia. The 1,846 square foot property sits on six acres of land and features three bedrooms and two bathrooms — but you’ll have to double-check for any Upside Down portals yourself.
Meanwhile, the Rome, Georgia mansion that stood in as Season 4’s creepy Creel House is on the market for $1.5 million. This recently restored Victorian-style home was built in 1882, and features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a Gothic-style guest house. And it all comes Vecna-free!
