As 2023 color of the year announcements have rolled out, many companies have opted to prioritize comfort and positivity in their selections. As it turns out, C2 Paint is no exception. Case in point: The brand’s 2023 color of the year, a rich restorative shade called Tiramisu (C2-600).

Inspired by the hues of natural wood and soil, Tiramisu is a warm, mid-tone brown with hints of gold and copper, meant to evoke sophisticated, grounding tones in any home. According to C2 Paint, Tiramisu symbolizes “genuineness, comfort, stability, endurance, and the strength of simplicity.”

The shade is a key element of C2 Paint’s 2023 theme: origins.

“We chose the theme origins because it brings us back to our roots as a company,” Tia Clarida, C2 Paint Marketing Director, said in a release. “Our colors are classic, but our unique, full-spectrum process gives them each a distinct personality, both in name and formulation.”

The company recommends pairing Tiramisu with two complementary capsule colors: Stout (C2-965) and En Pointe (C2-851)

Stout is made without black ink, which ironically allows the black shade to reflect the full range of natural light. Although the hue is velvety and dark, its multi-colorant base keeps it from being heavy and adds a luxurious air of sophistication to whatever room it’s used in.

Meanwhile, En Pointe is a fluid, calming shade of near-white. C2 Paint compares the hue to raw lamb’s wool and pale pebblestone, with a slight tint that makes it a good fit for traditional and contemporary spaces alike.

“We take inspiration from around the globe, imbued by the diversity and wonder of culture, craft, and nature, where each instills a sense of originality and reflects a connection to its source,” added Phillipa Radon, C2 Paint Design and Color Specialist. “Our capsule of colors is based on research, trends, and intuition, with much consideration to how they will translate to the human element of design.”

If you’re interested in bringing Tiramisu into your home, you can shop the shade on C2 Paint’s website, or at a participating retailer near you.
