Originally hoping to get away later this month for a few nights at a campsite in Michigan, sites are full and plans keep falling through with the group we have coming along for the journey. So we're thinking: Now that we have a small yard, what about pitching a couple tents in the back for a weekend or even just a night?
Are we crazy? Are we likely to just take the easy way out (and head indoors) when the bugs are bugging us and we can't fall asleep on the ground at 3 a.m.? Bear in mind the guests - we'll have two kids here (ages 9 and 12) who could probably make it seem ridiculously fun even if we get annoyed...
Tell us if you've ever camped (as a kid or adult) in a backyard, when you wanted to feel "away" and rustic without going too far.
