Cassie Lynne's Eclectic Bedroom

Cassie Lynne's Eclectic Bedroom

As I'm writing this, it's pouring in Los Angeles (for a few days!) and a cozy bedroom seems like a good place to spend the day. Apartment Therapy reader Cassie Lynne's bedroom fits the bill. It's a bright and colorful pick-me-up on a dreary gray day!

Here an eclectic group of furnishings and accessories work together to create an inviting space. Notice how color is picked up in at least three places around the room: the soothing blues of the bedspread are echoed in the vintage painting above the bed, as well as the one above the desk; there's orange in the lamp, the pillow and the throw; yellow in the clock, the lamp and one of the scarves hung jauntily on the wall. This use of color draws your eye around the room, neatly tying together what might otherwise be a jumbled mix of furnishings, accessories and patterns. Note the wall of scarves, the hook of handbags, the piles of books; these frequently used items, displayed thoughtfully, become both decorative and convenient.
