It’s a well-known fact that cats love to play and hide inside the most peculiar things, from cardboard boxes to vases to even… a labyrinth underneath your bed?

A couple of Medellin, Colombia-based designers have created a bed for humans and cats. At first glance, it might seem like a regular bed with a few stylish circle cutouts in the frame. But once you lift the mattress and part of the frame, it reveals a secret labyrinth where your feline can hide and play.

According to the designers, whose studio is called CatLife, they came up with the idea for the bed because they wanted to make furniture that’s beautiful, space-efficient, and meets the innate needs of the residents, whether human or pet.

“With our bed, our cat clients don’t feel invaded in their territory, nor do they have to run looking for a safe space to hide,” they said. “Under this bed, they find a quiet place, full of calm and security, and best of all, it still has the same functionality for the owner! You will continue to rest as you normally would, but now, you provide a unique den to your cat.”

The designers warn, though, that if you’re a light sleeper and if your cat is energetic, this design might not be the best for you. They explained to Bored Panda: “The bed is ideal for shy, skittish, and nervous cats looking for a safe place to go when they feel vulnerable or want to rest quietly.”

The bed, made from wood sourced from sustainable forests, comes with a mattress and two bedside tables. The price tag ranges from $550 to $680. You can learn more about it on the CatLife website.
