Celebrate the New Year with Dragon Art

We always look forward to what the Chinese zodiac has in store. It's like a fresh start a few weeks into the year, when all the resolutions have been broken and the weather's just starting to get us down. For 2012-2013, it's the year of the dragon. Children born under this sign may be extra independent and tough to parent, but they will grow up to be ambitious and hardworking, so says the astrology.

Unlike last year's fluffy bunny rabbit, it wasn't easy finding modern, child-friendly pictures of dragons. They're largely fantastical or look more fit for a tattoo. But here are a few prints that could make a fabulous addition to a young dragon's room, and they're at the top of our list for great shower gifts.

Happy New Year!

1. Hobbit Dragon by Crowsmack, $12
2. Carnival Photo by September Wren, $26
3. The Librarian by Delights Fantasy Art, $25
4. The Long Dragon by Hippos and Nuts, $25
5. Neighborhood by Invisible Creature, $159
