Looking for a few good reads in April? Some of our favorite celebrities have announced the picks for their book clubs this month. Check them out, and get to reading:

Heart Berries, by Terese Marie Mailhot (Our Shared Shelf with Emma Watson)

Watson's Goodreads book club, Our Shared Shelf, selected this bestselling memoir back in March, and they're reading it through April (her book club selects a new novel every two months). Watson mentions her involvement with #TimesUp and other activists as motivators behind this choice, as she realized how "incredibly important it is for those who have privilege to use whatever they can to amplify the voices of those who are less often listened to." Mailhot's memoir of growing up on an Indian reservation in the Pacific Northwest, and her subsequent diagnoses of PTSD and bipolar II disorder, make for a powerful memoir about her upbringing, her relationships with her parents, and how writing helped heal her trauma. Join Watson on Goodreads to discuss the memoir with fellow bookworms!

Happiness, by Heather Harpham (Reese Witherspoon's book club)

Witherspoon also chose a memoir for her April read—Happiness, published last summer, is the story of Harpham's difficult journey as a new, single mother with a daughter, Grace, born with a dire medical condition. Harpham is abruptly forced to handle motherhood alongside mortality, and Witherspoon promises: "This book is equal parts heart-wrenching and joyful, and you won't be able to stop turning these pages".

Laura & Emma, by Kate Greathead (Belletrist with Emma Roberts)

Emma Roberts' book club not only chooses a new read, but also encourages readers to support their local bookstores by choosing one to highlight and partner with each month. This month's book, Laura and Emma, is offered at a discount from Farley's Bookshop, based in New Hope, PA (you can pop into the store or order online for a discount). This fiction debut takes place in the upper class of New York City society in the late 1980s, when Laura, a wealthy thirtysomething, suddenly finds herself pregnant (with, you guessed it, Emma). A warm, intriguing mother-daughter journey as well as a historical look at New York City in the 80s and 90s, the story is about many different evolutions.

The Nocturnals: The Mysterious Abductions, Tracy Hecht (Nate Berkus' #NateReads)

This month's theme for Berkus' virtual book club, #NateReads, is "the journey." His first pick is The Nocturnals, the premier installment in the middle-school level series. Three friends, a fox, a pangolin, and a sugar glider, set out to discover the cause of several suspicious animal disappearances. This is the perfect chapter book to share with early readers!

To buy: $8, amazon.com.

At Home, Bill Bryson (Nate Berkus' #NateReads)

Berkus' second pick makes perfect sense for the designer—Bryson, an author famous for his non-fiction works on travel and science—takes the reader through the history of the "modern home," and even offers a window (no pun intended) into his own private quarters. Through this historical lens, Bryson describes the journey (Berkus' book club theme) that every item—from the paint to the throw pillows—takes in order to end up in our homes.
