Were you to have the good fortune to run into me at a party in the fall of 2017, you would have had the even better fortune to listen to me talk at length about Catherine Zeta-Jones' home collection, Casa Zeta Jones. I love actors/singers/models selling anything home related, and 2017 was a banner year for celebrities in the home decor world (not home decor celebrities, which is a big difference).
From Real Housewives to pop icons, everyone brought their A game, but now is not the time to rest on our laurels. We've got a whole new year ahead and there are countless celebrities out there with nary a sheet collection to their name. Let's gather 'round the waining holiday fire and place some bets on who we will see getting into the home decor game.
1. Harry Styles
Sweet Harry of the metallic patterned suits, exceptionally volumized hair, and noted lover of plants is perfectly poised to launch some sort of rocker, boho line that at least 50% of the AT Editorial team is guaranteed to buy.
2. Tracee Ellis Ross
Tracee Ellis Ross is a lot of things — one of our best living comic actors, Hollywood royalty, style icon. This year she added fashion designer to the mix with her JCPenney collection (which even had a few pillows!), showing an eye for design and a knack for business. We got a glimpse of her house in September and let's just say we'd be thrilled to have her bring some of her signature style into our living rooms.
3. Guy Fieri
This is sort of cheating because he already has a few kitchen items available, but with Guy's American Kitchen & Bar closing, maybe Flavortown could extend its reach a little. Would it be in line with the style of 98% of the people who read this site? Probably not. But it would make a lot of folks happy and, knowing Guy Fieri, he'd probably have some sort of charitable bent to it. Also, how fun would a consistent Guy Fieri QVC presence be?
4. Trixie Mattel
With neon, bright colors and big Palm Springs prints still holding on, it is time to take it to the next level—and no person alive is more qualified to usher us into this new era than Trixie Mattel. Her commitment to 'a beauty is pain' mentality may not lead to the most comfortable of goods, but who cares when your home can look as outsized and glamorous as Trixie herself.
5. The Rock
Sigh. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. He can do everything, so why not design some bedding? I'm sure they'd all have vaguely uncomfortable names like "Big Daddy King Size Collection," but who are we to judge? He's already shown a certain amount of skill as a lifestyle influencer, so he might as well go all the way.
