Centerpiece Inspiration: Laura Normandin's Wedding

Laura Normandin, the talented artist behind Wren Handmade, used clusters of potted geraniums and herbs as centerpieces at her wedding, which is featured in this summer's Martha Stewart Weddings issue. We love the idea of decorating a dinner party or luncheon with potted plants, which can double as party favors. The brightly glazed ceramic pots Laura chose, along with the varied textures and colors of the plants, make for a beautiful, summery centerpiece...

As you can see in the background here, Laura continued the potted plant theme along a mantel and throughout the event space in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. This would be an easy, affordable way to decorate any party; terra cotta pots are inexpensive, as are many small-scale houseplants. Going with glazed ceramic pots increases costs a bit, but then you can choose a color palette to match your table settings, as Laura did.

For more inspiration from Laura's wedding, check out the photo gallery on Martha, or visit Laura's blog for her own photos and commentary. If you like the look of her wedding, you'll surely enjoy her line of lovely items on Etsy too.
