Blogger Joy Cho of Oh Joy! has an irresistible aesthetic that’s playful and full of color. We’re big fans of her Target collections, but her most recent collaboration really cements her designer status: A line of tile for Clé.

According to the announcement post on Oh Joy, the collaboration started when Cho was looking to bring tile into her office. That’s when they decided to do a line of custom tiles and then make them available for purchase. Clé writes that “it is exciting to include a new cement artist collection designed by a ‘mix-master’ creator of colorful, joyful patterns.”

Cho talks about how different it is to design tile than anything they’ve done before:

[W]e really had to work on simplifying our typical (very colorful and very pattern-heavy) methods. Most people don’t want tile that is too colorful or over-the-top. Tile isn’t cheap and it lasts for a long time, so it needs to feel like it can go with your space for a long time to come… They have touches of color, but aren’t too intensely bold. They are meant to make just the right touch of a statement in a space.

We think they did a pretty great job balancing Oh Joy aesthetic with something that can stand the test of time—the whimsical designs and soft pastels are perfect for a space that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

The cement tile comes in five patterns and two shapes: square confetti, square bubble, hexagon petal, hexagon pinwheel, and hexagon streamers. They can be installed on floors or walls, and turned around to play with the tile’s repeat and make new patterns.

You can order samples and see more details about the collection over on Clé.
