Good Quotes: (from Francesca) I spent the entire day yesterday working on a house for Rebuilding Together. This is the third year that I volunteer and it is such a reality check. Reality this year was a 60 year old grandmother raising 3 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild in a two bedroom house that needed major work. If you ever ear me whining because I cannot afford this or that, do please scold me!

Thank you, Francesca, for the reality check. Working with people in need of housing assistance puts things in perspective. Your home doesn’t need to look like a magazine, it just needs to be a healthy, supportive, and liveable space. We’re impressed with Francesca for setting those goals not only for herself, but for others in her community! The Cure is coming to a close soon…only two weeks left. The toughest parts have passed, and we’re looking forward to seeing our community’s improved spaces. Click below to take a peek at a few Cured rooms…

Weekly Assignment (Deep Treatment): The work load this week lightens up a bit. If you’re behind, use this week to catch up. If you’re ahead, give yourself a pat on the back. We’re cleaning and decluttering the bathroom and treating ourselves to some small indulgences – a nice soap or scented candle can make a big difference in the bathroom.

Weekly Assignment (One Room Workout): You’ll be working on lighting and painting this week. Arrange at least 3 points of light in your room from bright, concentrated light to soft, ambient light. For inspiration, see our lighting archives. For tips on how to paint a room, see this post.
