The competition in robot vacuum cleaners is heating up. Roomba has got some serious competition from all over the world. The latest is from Chinavasion, who's put something unique onto their robot vacuum cleaner.

Unlike the Neato, the G182 doesn't use lasers but it's got one thing that will set it apart from all of the other robot vacuum cleaners: a remote-controlled pan and tilt IR-equipped webcam. This is an interesting addition, however its placement ensures that the G182 won't be able to vacuum under couches and other furniture with low edges.

As to its features, it comes with everything that you'd expect. It will dock automatically with the charging base when its battery gets too low. It also has a wireless IR virtual fence to ensure that it doesn't fall off the stairs or wander where it shouldn't go.

The addition of the webcam makes it ideal to surveil your home. It can be controlled via the internet, so that's kind of interesting, since you could check things out at home while you are away. It provides a live video and audio feed. It's available for around $500 at Chinavasion.
