Location: St-Lambert — the south shore of Montreal, Quebec — Canada
We bought a small house in 2006 that we renovated, doubling the square footage (from 1,200 square feet to 2,400 square feet). Among other things, we used reclaimed brick, from old factories, all around the "new house". We also chose geothermal energy in an effort to be environment friendly and also to cut on our heating/electricity bills.
The glass wall in the kitchen/dining room/living room was inspired by all the nice houses we saw when we lived in southern California. Since the weather is much colder up north, at least these huge windows offer much appreciated light during the long winter months!
