We'll be rounding up the highlights from CA Boom 08 over the next couple of days. What a great show and a great turn out. We're so inspired we could take the next 2 years just working on all the projects we thought of while walking around the booths. So to start, we were pleased to meet the folks at Cisco Home from right here in LA and committed to sustainable home furnishings.
Cisco Home is especially committed to green fabrics and furniture that is built to last (and built locally in LA). All the fabrics are chemical free natural fibers like flax, jute, hemp or something called a yak blend. They will custom build sofas chairs and even rugs to your specifications. No particle board here, just solid sofas with natural fabrics, and an emphasis on custom designs. Sofas are built from sustainably grown wood or from reclaimed woods and the frames are guaranteed for life. All of the furniture is chemical free using formaldehyde-free glue, natural dyes, and washed in chemical free detergents so that it ultimately won't make you sick.
What we especially loved is that there isn't anything about the style of the furniture that shouts that it's green or sustainable, it just looks classic, beautiful and comfortable. Maybe because they're Italian, we were charmed by the classic styles, warm fabrics and enduring quality. They have 2 locations in LA, one in Pasadena and one on La Brea. Find all the details on their website.
