Closet As Changing Area

Cozy and discreet. Convert a small closet in the nursery into a changing area. We discovered this creative use of space at HGTV.

The subject nursery was too small for a dedicated changing area. So the designers used the existing closet instead.

For the changing surface, mount a shelf at a comfortable height. Add a lip to safely hold the changing pad.

The best part is that the closet still can function as storage for clothes, toys and accessories. Hang a bar under the shelf for hanging clothes. Shelves can hold folded clothes and other items. Leave the closet door in place so you can hide the area, or remove the door to show it off.
