A Plug Designed to Make Us Think About Power

No matter how passionate you are about being green, it's still a tough effort. But its often hard to ignore something staring you in the face. Just like how it's easy to recycle with a recycling bin in your kitchen—when you've got outlets that show you wasted power, you're more likely to shut down those vampire gadgets...

This in-between outlet plug, Lim&Lee1%, was created by Korean designers Lim yong-bum and Lee sang-hoon. Designed to sit between your gadgets and their power-feeding outlets, these plugs help to identify exactly what's plugged in with super-low-power LED icons.

But the lit-up icons serve as more than just identification. They can show you which gadgets are sucking on your power. A green-lit plug means that the powered-off but plugged-in TV is still gulping down electricity. A quick tilt of the Lim&Lee1% plug will shut down the power completely.

Those unfamiliar plugs should be telling you that it's just an overseas concept for now. But we love the idea of giving our mega power centers (like our desk and media center) an overhaul to be more beautiful and efficient.
