Most of us are familiar with Eric Carle's classic exploration of numbers and food, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. But we've added a few more culinary books to our library that we think are just as engaging and fun for kids. Here are a few ideas to add to your budding gourmet's book collection.

My Foodie A to Z: A Little Gourmet's Guide, by Puck. $8.95. Kid-friendly encyclopedic entries introduce your little one to more exotic foods, like quinoa, yucca and dragon fruit.

Jamberry, by Bruce Degen. $7.99. A children's classic since the 80s, Jamberry's fun rhymes take kids through the crazy world of berry picking.

The 100th Customer, by K.T. Hao and Byung-Gyu Kim. $12.44. Ben Bear and Chris Croc make pizza and ice cream. But they also understand the meaning of generosity, kindness, and sacrifice.

Foodie Babies Wear Bibs, by Michelle Sinclair Colman. $6.29. The babies in this installment of the Urban Babies Wear Black series visit the farmer's market and explore the pleasures of good food.

A Little Bit of Soul Food, by Amy Wilson Sanger. $6.99. Introduce your kids to the pleasures of southern cooking with this entry into the World Snacks series. The collection also includes books on Japanese, Jewish, Chinese, Latin, and Italian cuisines.

Yummy Yucky, by Leslie Patricelli. $6.99. This funny board book teaches kids in the oral stage what's yummy ("burgers") and what's yucky ("boogers").
