One of the fastest-growing and most popular lifestyle brands to spring up in the past five years, Parachute previously entered the home goods market with luxury bath towels and bedding at fair prices.

Black Friday is ostensibly a time to get started on holiday shopping, but the deep discounts also make it a great time to get big investment pieces for yourself. And if that big investment piece you’ve been looking for is a mattress, this time of the year is an excellent time to get one. For all those couples out there (like me and my husband) who’ve taken to social media to try and figure out the best compromise between soft and firm, and which of the ever-daunting number of bed-in-a-box brands might be the right fit, Casper just unveiled what may be the Goldilocks of mattresses.

Just when you thought going to the mattresses had gone to the mattresses, Casper and Target announced they’re teaming up to completely own the bed-in-a-box industry. One of the hottest trends in home goods over the last two years, particularly among millennials, online mattresses now comprise a $15B industry, with top contenders including Casper and Tuft & Needle, Purple, Leesa, and a few dozen more — some say as many as 35 brands vying for dominance.

Mattress shopping used to involve lying awkwardly on dozens of questionably clean mattresses while a salesperson looked on impatiently, trying to keep track of countless subtle distinctions between options, paying a ton for delivery or truck rental, hefting the beast up two flights of stairs, and being stuck with a dud if your 5-minute impression in the store ended up being erroneous.
