Color Combo: Burgundy, Blues, and Black
We happened upon this color combo accidentally when we were researching Sköna Hem for last week’s plant chandelier post. We held on to it mainly because we’ve never actually seen these colors used in combination before…? And it’s surprisingly great–and perfect for fall…
Frankly, we’re so used to associating the color burgundy to stuffy bed-and-breakfast inns or floral-patterned polyester duvet covers at motels. But here, burgundy takes on a fresher, modern look thanks to some well-chosen striped bedding in light tonal blues, an interesting arrangement of black and white photos above the headboard, and–gasp!–dark furniture!
P.S. That striped rug is great, and we totally want that in our home right now. Or at least around Thanksgiving. The burgundy makes it so perfect for fall, but the black gives it a nice twist–instead of the typical orange-brown-yellow-hunter green motif.
