Hardcore DIY-er or Hands-Off Shopper? A Versatile (& Colorful) Lighting Resource to Put On Your List
If you have taken a look around any of our house tours —regardless of decor personality — you have probably seen an abundance of pendant lamps. With the ability to act as a stand-alone statement piece or a subtle accessory, hanging lamps can be versatile, adaptable, and will always add a touch of class.
I first saw Color Cord Company a few years back at ICFF, but this year they are back with so much more. While yes, they sell bright, beautiful, fabric-covered lighting solutions, they are also a huge resource for designers, manufacturers, and DIY-ers alike, and have grown to be an entire lighting store. In this week’s Fantastic Find I unpack a care package from them to share with all of you. Check it out!
The Backstory
The Color Cord Company is all about about mixing and matching lighting accessories and components. Founded by husband and wife pair Beau and Meggan Fadden Wynja, it’s a small business, though you wouldn’t be able to tell by the sheer number of choices, customization, and level of customer service they are able to provide. Color Cord was created with DIY in mind, but that doesn’t mean you have to be DIY-savvy to shop its catalog of options. It is the ideal resource for any lighting project you might be embarking upon: no venture is too big or too small.
How It Works
While they might be best known for their cloth-covered electrical wire and their simple light cord sets, they also have a diverse supply of bulb cages, shades AND they sell all the components necessary to DIY a light fixture. Their whole idea is to make lighting accessible no matter what you plan to create. You can build the whole thing yourself, shop their pre-assembled collection, or tell them what you want and they’ll make it for you. And of course they remain true to their name by providing over 75 different colors of lighting accessories.
Perfect For
Everyone! Really, they mean it. Designers, shoppers, interior decorators, retailers, manufacturers, you name it. You can be organic, modern, boho or classic, but I think you’re bound to found something that fits your look. And if you’re feeling a little hesitant about where to begin? You can always check out their blog and tutorial videos. DIY lighting doesn’t have to be as daunting as it might seem! Have you ever tried the Color Cord Company? What did you think?
