There are plenty of ways to bring a little Disney magic into your home even if you live nowhere near the theme parks on either coast, but one Colorado house for sale might just take the cake for the most creative. The four-bedroom, four-bath pad includes ample modern amenities and features throughout, but it’s the Mickey-fied basement that has social media abuzz.

Located in a luxe 55+ community in Thornton, Colorado, this 2016 build includes just about everything you’d need to enjoy your twilight years in style. A gourmet kitchen, a gas pit and hot tub, and views overlooking the community golf course are paired with sleek updated fixtures in every room. As Zillow Gone Wild put it, the home’s basement brings ‘Be Our Guest’ to a whole new level, thanks to its unique entryway in the shape of Mickey ears and decked out Disney decor.

The basement bedroom is themed perfectly to “Beauty and the Beast,” including a gold tufted bedspread to match princess Belle’s signature ball gown. The walls are lined with Disney memorabilia from both the parks and the classic films and characters, and the bathroom pays full homage to the main Mouse himself.

Of course, thanks to the internet’s love of roasting “Disney adults,” (for full disclosure: a category in which this writer squarely and happily falls into), Twitter’s got jokes about the home, which comes with a lofty $1.1 million listing price.

Of a plausible hypothetical conversation in the house, one user wrote: “ ‘Hey, where’s your bathroom?’ ‘How many times do I have to explain this, go through the Mickey ears, go to your right and if you hit Cinderella’s castle bed you went too far.’”

Another person called the Mickey-shaped doorway “a crazy innovative way to make carrying large objects horizontally (such as a mattress),” adding, “could be game changing.” Points were made here. Yet another said: “I am in my 40’s and would still kill for that Belle room.”

All jokes aside, the sellers did include a note on the doorway indicating that they can return it to a normal, non-Disney design. So if you’re in your mid-fifties or older looking for a magical new home near Denver, this might just be the house for you.
