Combi Coccoro Car Seat

Combi Coccoro Car Seat

We're living in smaller apartments and homes with children and we're also beginning to drive smaller cars (those of us who have cars anyway) which can make fitting in car seats, especially for multiple children, more difficult. Combi, already known for bringing some style to the car seat realm, has designed the Coccoro specifically aimed at owners of smaller, compact, more fuel efficient cars.

Designed to be either rear or front facing, Combi says up to three Coccoros can be used together in the back seat of most compact cars or two on the sides with room for an adult to sit in between them. Another feature we really like is the infant insert ("Mommy's Lap" insert) to give young and small babies a snug fit. At 11 lbs., the Coccoro is several pounds lighter than most comparable car seats which smaller (in our case, wimpier) parents will appreciate and those of us who don't own cars and lug it back and forth from the apartment to rentals or Zipcars.

The simple, modern design answers a lot of design-conscious parents' prayers and we love that there are seven colors to choose from: cherry pie, cool mint, carrot cake, key lime, strawberry shake, chestnut, and hazelnut. The cost? $200. The Combi website says they will be available in Feb. 2009, but they're still listed as pre-orders. Find out more here and purchase here.
