Commonwealth Utilities Dinner Party

Dinner parties are always so much fun (to us, anyway!) We love planning, throwing, and attending dinner parties &mdash it's always so interesting to come up with new ideas and wow your guests with creativity. We enjoy parties most when the hosts thinks outside of the box during the planning process.

Commonwealth Utilities had a dinner party to celebrate their latest collection during fashion week. They had the help of the New Museum and Richard Christiansen of Chandelier Creative &mdash and we're pretty blown away by the outcome. The inspiration and color schemes won't be everyones favorite, but, there's no denying an A for effort and creativity!

Gold lacquered picnic tables and antique candelabras, as well as 150 gold tanks and 1500 mini gold soldiers. Alongside the gold toy soldiers were love letters from soldiers in WWI and WWII.

The design is romantic and sophisticated all the while being a little rough and playful. We really like that the decorative elements are unique. There's not a flower in sight and we're okay with that &mdash we like the playfulness of the tanks and toy soldiers and the love letters make it feel somewhat serious and special. Those are treasures that we would save and display in our home.

We do admit that the seating could have been a little more thought out. We're certainly not huge fans of maneuvering in and out of a picnic table, but for the sake of the theme &mdash we'd definitely deal. We enjoy the fact that the inspiration we've taken from this dinner party is different than what we take from others. It's encourages us to think outside of the box next time we plan a party.

What do you think of the Commonwealth Utilities Dinner Party?
