Over the weekend, our color genius judges, Abigail Ahern, Jessica Helgerson, Jonathan Lo and the design super-duo of Doug and Gene Meyer voted on your top 5 choices in each of our divisions. We counted their votes, read their ballots, checked our tallies and now are proud to announce the division winners who are also the finalists for the Room for Color (sponsored by Chip It! by Sherwin-Williams) 2013 grand prize vote! Check them out, congratulate them on their division win and then click on through to the main contest page to vote for the one room you think should take the big prize...
Warm Division Finalist: Stacey's "Grown Up Lavender" Room
Location: St. Louis, MO
What our judges had to say about Stacey's room:
Jessica Helgerson: The sofa color is gorgeous...really bold against the pale lavender. I love that rug, too.
Abigail Ahern: Stacey's grown up lavender room won out because that combination of lavender and mustard-y yellow is magical. I'm not the biggest fan of pastel hues but this space made me do a u-turn. It feels relaxing, super grown up and very glam.
Cool Division Finalist: Rachel's "Anthropologie Explosion" Room
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Doug & Gene Meyer: Fun, eclectic mix and a perfect green colored sofa combined with the different charcoal greys.
Jessica Helgerson: Fun and eclectic. Looks like a place that would be nice to hang out in, lots to do, see, read, watch and think about.
Light Division Finalist: Kelly's "Cheery Rainbow" Room
Location: Summit, NJ
Doug & Gene Meyer: A very inviting room for lucky sisters to grow up in.
Dark Division Finalist: Laura's "English Library" Room
Location: NY, NY
Abigail Ahern: This space makes you want to curl up with a book and hang out. It feels super snuggly not just because of the paint colour but also all the other things in there. I say this a lot but the more layers you add to a room the more memorable and interesting they become.
Jonathan Lo: I have to admit that I'm now completely obsessed with this rich dark blue color! I love the way Laura painted the walls, picture moulding, and bookcase all the same color and they blend in with the sofa. It just feels so modern! I also love how the rug gives the room great texture and plays off all the wood tones.
