Describe your space:

I wanted to have my own space, and thankfully, I got my hands on this small studio, located in a beautiful, modern building in Bogota. Finding it was easy. As soon as I came in, I fell in love with the light and the energy. But the style was too classic for me, so I renovated the whole thing. Most of the work consisted of tearing down the walls and installing the glass division/door. I wanted an open, clear space. The other part was finding the right materials to convey that peaceful simplicity I was looking for. It's the coolest because it's small but serene, simple, yet full of energy.

Did you DIY anything in your space? And, if so, what's your favorite DIY?

I did the installation of the kitchen tiles on my own. And it was the first time I'd tried it. It was a fun but scary decision because the pattern was tricky and felt like using the wrong pieces on a puzzle, but it finally came through, and I adore that it gives a totally different feeling to my kitchen. I chose a geometric, white, Scandinavian style to keep my simplistic vibe, but also to maintain the neutral tones and make it easy to combine with natural accents, such as the wooden chopping boards and the plants I had in mind.

What's your favorite product that you bought for your space and where did it come from?

I think it's really difficult to choose one because I have few things, but I would say it's a marble, round board made by Colombian artisans in Santander. That region is known for stone carving, and when I saw what they did and how they worked with stone, I was so amazed, I had to go there. So I arrived in Barichara, found a lovely family that worked with the material, and bought a lot of carved chopping boards. I wanted stone because no piece of it is alike, it's naturally styled, and has an amazing texture that adds volume to the space.

What inspires you?
