A great costume doesn't have to be scary - here are four terrific ones based on people from different walks of life. Click the thumbnail photo to see the whole costume and click through to find out how the costumes were made.

aka: Parker (5)
location: Concord, NH
age group: child
difficulty level: semi-easy

materials: a thrift store snowsuit, white duct tape and purchased patches for the suit; a balloon, papier mache an embroidery hoop and a fleece hat for the helmet; an empty plastic vinegar jug and elastic for the air tank.

description: Find them at Stitch Craft Creations
Thanks Holly!

aka: Grayden (2)
location: Columbus, OH
age group: toddler
difficulty level: semi-easy

materials: plaid fabric, elastic

description: I simply made elastic waist plaid pants and added elastic below the knee. I did make the hat as well, but little golfer hats are not hard to come by. Everything else came out of his closet. Cute, cheap and easy.
Thanks Katie!

Flower Child

aka: Raquel (2)
location: Summit, NJ
age group: toddler
difficulty level: semi-easy

materials: Hippie Dress found at Gap Kids, cow girl boots, peace signs on cheeks with face make-up and a flower crown made out of silk flowers and floral tape.

description: Made a crown by using silk daisies and stringing them together with floral tape to make a crown! The rest was easy.
Thanks Christina!

aka: Grace (16 months)
age group: toddler
difficulty level: semi-easy

materials: Fabric of your choice, sewing machine, robe pattern

description: Modified child's robe pattern by increasing size of sleeves or try this one.
Replace robe tie with fabric tied around waste to look like an obi belt. Flip flops work great for shoes.
Thanks Tracy!
