Simple Décor in a Kit-Built Home

For a website with an admittedly modern bend, we sure enjoy the work they do over at Country Living. Now they've gone and shared a home with a very progressive foundation and we're again inspired by this surprising publication.

The home in question is situated in upstate New York, and has a restrained country vibe about it despite being ultra-contemporary in construction. A kit home is made of modular pieces and the process of putting one up is usually significantly less expensive and wasteful than building a standard structure. The interior design here responds to this type of architecture in its bold-but-soothing white and blue-green color scheme, with graphic pops of text and color on the walls. The country feeling in this home comes from the untreated wood, iron furnishings, and curtained kitchen cabinets, but even these things are done in a simple, unfussy, and dare we say, modern way.
