Create Your Own Waterproof Bathroom Speakers

Singing in the shower and relaxing in the bath are made all that much more enjoyable when you have some tunage. We stumbled upon a neat solution for adding music to the bathroom over on Instructables, and while this is not as elegant as a solution as the Kohler SoundTile speakers, it is a much less expensive one.

This how to by Instructables user DepotDevoid cleverly shows you how to make your own waterproof bathroom speaker out of old computer speakers. While we do think it leaves a bit to be desired in the aesthetics department, it is still a nifty idea.

To transform your own computer speakers into a waterproof shower speaker you will need:

  • a pair of 9 volt computer speakers
  • 1 waterproof container that opens easily
  • 1 power button of some sort
  • 1 pair of disposable rubber gloves
  • a small amount of light fabric
  • a 9 volt battery clip

The tools needed for this project include a drill, glass/tile boring bits, soldering iron, and hot glue gun, just to name a few.

We think this is an awesome way to upcycle old computer speakers and turn them into something we would love to have in our bathroom.
