Creative Small Spaces in San Francisco

These San Franciscans may be short on space, but definitely not on style. We've rounded up some of our favorite house tours in the City by the Bay, all 1,000 square feet and under. And since they have sacrificed square footage, we're including our homeowners' Biggest Indulgences. See where they get spendy, after the jump!

Mason and Serena's Sunset Beach Bungalow — Biggest Indulgence: "Our art collection and our surfboards."
Krystal's San Francisco Studio — Biggest Indulgence: "Flowers. Preferably hydrangeas or crisp, white roses. I love how it instantly adds a fresh accent to any room."
Leigh's Rockridge Dollhouse — Biggest Indulgence: "The original art adorning my walls, or maybe my four wolf dressforms take that multi-layer cake."
Brenden's & Shannon's Pint-Sized Pad — Biggest Indulgence: "Even though we got a killer deal on the authentic Eames Lounge Chair, it still hurt our wallets."
Erin & Danny Living Together in Only 500 Square Feet — Biggest Indulgence: "Because most of our furnishings were either a bargain or made by us, the food and cooking equipment. What we don't spend at pricey furniture stores we blow at Rainbow Grocery, the farmers market, and the cookware section of Bloomingdales. I never deny myself pine nuts."

Frances' Light-Filled Haven — Biggest Indulgence: "My wool shag rug."
Caitlin's Small, Stylish San Francisco Home — Biggest Indulgence: "My Osouk rug in the dining room -- it completely transformed my apartment. I was the fourth hold on it so I thought I'd never get it but as luck would have it, it became mine!"
Bill's Story-Filled San Francisco Apartment — Biggest Indulgence: "Vinyl records. I've been collecting since high school. Though I do continually try to 'cull the herd' to stay in line with my minimalist pursuit."
Patrick's Curiosity-Filled Studio — Biggest Indulgence: "Red wine, but of course."
Erin and Melanie's Sunny Mission Oasis — Biggest Indulgence: "Buying more design objects and sometimes furniture (I have a chair problem) than we need and not having a place to put them!"

Joan and Johann's Mission Maisonette — Biggest Indulgence: "We sprang for Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds. Love them."
Leslie and Adam's Home for Two — Biggest Indulgence: "The vintage 1920's steel dresser I bought at Past Perfect. It was a great price, though the drawers are hard to open and I'm probably being slowly poisoned by lead paint on my clothes. Adam's biggest indulgences are paintings by local artists Ivy Jacobsen and Freya Prowe."
Rebecca and Roger's Flux-Redux — Biggest Indulgence: "Buying more chairs that I don't need. We are up to 27 now."
Sam's Carriage House Meets Gypsy Caravan — Biggest Indulgence: "I'd have to say art, although I rarely spend more than $100 on any one piece — but when your walls are covered, it does add up."
Lisa and Clay's Artsy and Calm Collaboration — Biggest Indulgence: "The Kofod Larsen credenza in the living room. It is my prized possession."
