It’s a well known fact that the fastest way to change the look of your home is to change the textiles. Throw pillows are the easiest and most budget-friendly place to start. New throw pillows can really freshen up your style and inspire the aesthetic of a whole room. There are several Marketplace sellers offering gorgeous handmade pillow cases or you can shop secondhand designer options for a fraction of the retail price. And if your inserts are looking a little lumpy or flat, it’s time to upgrade with these hypoallergenic cushions.

No matter what style you fancy, there is a throw pillow for you. Keep it interesting by varying the texture, pattern and size of your cushions. For saturated, overdyed pillow cases made from Turkish rugs, AuthenTurkish has you covered. Pick up mud cloth and hypercolor African printed cushions from Reflektion Design. Get velvet and vintage floral covers on Swan Court’s Marketplace corner. For modern and Ikat decorative pillows priced in the $50-$70 range, Decordeaux adds invisible zipper closures so you can effortlessly switch the covers the next time you need a change.

Just the idea of dropping several hundreds of dollars for one throw pillow makes my jaw drop. Instead I comb through the Marketplace for design throw pillows others are unloading. Take for example the expensive-looking sculpted felt pillows by designer Anne Kyyro Quinn (pictured above) going for $60 for the pair. There are several Jonathan Adler cushions for sale on Marketplace but this needlepoint “Roma” find ($50) is a fun favorite.
