We spend our days scouring the Marketplace for gems you can’t find anywhere else. Buy and sell with over 200,000 neighbors that love quality home furnishings and good design.

ModPop calls themselves mid-century enthusiasts but their Marketplace corner is so much more than that. Along with Saarinen-style tulip tables (like the one featured above) and the brass-accented lamps, the San Francisco-based seller is also listing more modern furnishings and home decor from CB2, Ikea and Crate and Barrel. Striking a balance of the two styles can make a home look fresh and thoughtfully put together.

Take for example this restored Vista daybed ($740) that begs to be lounged upon. Reupholstered cushions comfortably sit on a steel base you can tuck into an atrium, a sunroom, near a window in your living room. Tie it to its surroundings by adding a large almost-new sisal rug from Crate and Barrel ($200).

Previously used for a home staging, cherry red CB2 throw pillows ($50) add some exciting energy to a home full of neutrals. The graphic pattern is interesting without being overwhelming. Carry the fun element through the room by adding oversized iron jacks ($100) to a nearby table. These artisan-made sculptures also double as doorstops or paper weights. Matching brass lamps from the 1960’s ($300) would look divine flanking the ends of a credenza. Add modernist CB2 wall hangings ($80) to drive the eye upward and you’ve got yourself an instagram-worthy space.
