Dara Segal of Simply Framed was one of our Pitch Presenters at our April Maker Talk. We have done a lot of framing for the Apartment Therapy office recently, so I know a thing or two about schlepping art around town, getting overwhelmed by too many frame and mat options, and waiting weeks for finished frames. Simply Framed claims to solve this. To see if Simply Framed was as good as Dara claims, I decided to see if it was actually easier than taking my art to a frame shop. Review: A+. It was so easy, I got notifications throughout the process letting me know how my baby art was doing, and it looks amazing in my gallery wall in my bedroom. Downside: the one gorgeous frame makes all the rest look sad. I guess this means I need to send something else to get a big girl frame! Company: Simply Framed
Hometown: Miami

About: "We believe that empty walls are sad walls. Everyone has parts of themselves to show off: their memories, their passions, the pieces of their culture. These are the things that enrich people's daily lives, and they deserve better than storage boxes (or worse, thumbtacks).
The framing process can be hard and expensive, and it's been that way for decades. We're changing that. Instead of overwhelming choices, we deliver a curated selection of gallery-worthy custom frames at affordable prices. Instead of hauling your stuff to the frame shop, Simply Framed lets you complete the whole process from home.
It's not about making walls pretty, although that's a great bonus. It's about offering a service so simple and streamlined, people can finally bring those important pieces of their lives out of hiding and onto display where they belong."

A special thanks to...
Our wine sponsor, Chapoutier Belleruche. Michel Chapoutier says that one of the most difficult tasks of a vineyardist and winemaker is to make a serious, high-quality wine, yet have it remain a good value. His "Belleruche" wines accomplish just that. M. Chapoutier Belleruche Rose is a great introduction to one of the world's most celebrated wine appellations: the Côtes-du-Rhône region.
