Deck the (Front) Hall: Holiday Decor for the Entryway

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the moment when you step from a snowy street into a warm and welcoming home. If that home has a wreath on the door, a poinsettia on the hall table and a snowflake garland running up the banister? Well, good luck getting me to leave.

As the first thing guests see when they enter your home, a festive entryway can set the mood for holiday gatherings both large and small. I also find that a bowl of baubles or a bit of greenery can brighten my own mood when returning from work in the evenings, which is just as important when it's pitch dark and bitterly cold outside!

Whether you have a hallway large enough for its own Christmas tree, or a modest landing strip which could display a collection of holiday cards, there are a multitude of ways to bring some seasonal cheer to your doorstep. Take some inspiration from the photos above, or share your favorite entryway ideas below. Happy decorating!
