Old shipping crates can often hold a second life once they've made the big overseas trek to your neck of the woods. We've seen one homeowner use them to camouflage kitchen drawers and appliances. Now, one Instuctables user, Zieak, shows how you can turn a collection of wooden crates into cool office drawers.

Zieak first built his desk's framework out of 1x12 red cedar boards and 2x2 red cedar pieces salvaged from his front porch railing. Most of the crates, found at garage sales and thrift stores, fit within cubbies in the framework without extra hardware, but Zieak installed drawer tracks on the larger drawers to help them glide out rather than dragging on the wood.

We love how Zieak's printer tucks in nicely on the one side. We imagine the short Pepsi drawer being perfect for storing printer paper. You can read all of Zieak's instructions on Instructables.
