There’s not much more comforting at the end of a long day than turning off your brain and turning on Netflix, but the fact that it’s supposed to be a comfort makes its annoying features all the more irritating—in particular, autoplay.

You know, when you navigate to the Netflix home screen but take too long to start typing in the name of the series you want to watch, or when you’re done with your watching session but Netflix is not done playing next episodes (or worse, trailers for unrelated shows you have no plans to watch). But finally, Netflix is letting you disable autoplay.

Netflix announced the new option on Twitter earlier this week. In reply to a tweet by Sarah Hollowell, the company said, “Some people find this feature helpful. Others not so much. We’ve heard the feedback loud and clear — members can now control whether or not they see autoplay previews on Netflix,” before linking to a page on its website explaining how this works (which you can find here).

While announcing the new option to disable autoplay, The Verge pointed out how annoying people have found it:

“There are Reddit threads, YouTube videos, and, of course, tweets from angry customers who have asked Netflix to please, for the love of all that’s good in the world, stop with the annoying autoplay features. One person was so frustrated that they created an entire Twitter account just to ask Netflix to please stop.”

Still, most of the responses to Netflix’s recent tweet are further complaints.

When it comes to our relaxation time, Netflix viewers are serious.
