Disheveled Lighting: Pendant Cords Tied Up In Knots!

Disheveled Lighting: Pendant Cords Tied Up In Knots!

What is it about disheveled, or rumpled design that appeals to the comfort-seeker in us? Maybe it's a reaction against people needing things to be perfect or to match, or the glossy magazines that tell us what we must do. But we like the devil-may-care attitude of these pendant lights in a house featured in Light Locations. Each room in this unique house sports bare bulb pendant fixtures with cords all tied up in knots...

All of the houses in Light Locations rent out for expensive photo shoots, so before you click the unsafe(!) button, we're thinking that surely these fixtures would have passed muster for insurance reasons. And we see looped hanging cords in lighting store displays all the time. Although we'd be interested in hearing from the electricians in the crowd whether knotting a cloth cord would be something we shouldn't try. Rejuvenation sells simple cloth-cord pendant light fixtures similar to these, and so does Sundance.
