There’s an Etsy Candle Shop Devoted to Disney Rides of the Past
Disney fans know that one way to bring a little pixie dust home when you can’t visit the parks is through the many Disney scented candles available on Etsy. Plenty of makers have perfected the art of candles inspired by the parks. Whether you’re dreaming of your favorite park snack (Dole Whip candles last much longer than the cult-favorite treat themselves) or want to bring some Disney princess vibes into your home decor, there’s a candle out there for every Disney fan.
But if you find yourself nostalgic specifically for Disney rides of the past, Etsy shop Candles of Tomorrow has the scented candles for you. The St. Louis-based candle makers specialize in scents inspired by Epcot rides past and present, including fan favorites like Maelstrom, the classic boat ride inspired by Norway which was replaced by Frozen Ever After in 2016.
How exactly can a candle smell like a theme park ride, you ask? Per the candle’s description, the sellers note, “With the Maelstrom-Scented Candle, we’ve tried to capture the rustic, earthy scent of the giant wooden troll in the Norway pavilion shop at Epcot.” Disney fans know that feeling nostalgic for a wooden troll isn’t actually odd at all, just par for the course for those who pick up on all of the tiny details at the Disney parks.
Other classic Epcot rides you can bring home include a Universe of Energy scented candle (it smells like dinosaurs, of course), a Horizons scented candle that brings the iconic orange scent from the ride to your home, and a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea scented candle inspired by the scents of the sea.
If it’s present-day Epcot you’re missing, there are candle options for you, too. There are candles inspired by the Mexico pavilion, the Land pavilion, and Spaceship Earth, the park’s flagship attraction and iconic symbol that welcomes guests into Epcot.
Each candle comes in a retro tin with a wax figurine of each ride vehicle or attraction building inside, with plenty of buyers buying two of each so they have one to keep on display at home.
The sellers are actively working on adding more candles to their collection, asking followers for suggestions of their favorite beloved rides of the past they can create next. Each candle costs $22 and with five-star reviews across the board, it’s clear that they’ve captured the experience of so many familiar scents and memories for Disney fans who might be missing their park visits a little bit harder these days.
