The news was announced on the Disney Parks blog, stating that Cinderella’s castle in the Magic Kingdom is about to get “even more magical.” Representing the heart of Disney World, the castle’s classic facade will be transformed into a blush and rose gold masterpiece, and the roof turrets will get a deeper shade of blue.
In case you need a reminder, here’s how the castle currently looks:
“[Cinderella’s] courage and kindness have been inspiring guests and cast members alike,” Jason Kirk, Vice President of Magic Park Kingdom wrote in the blog post. “We are excited to share that her story has inspired a bold, shimmering and royal makeover of her namesake castle at the heart of Walt Disney World Resort.”
The realistic rendering of the transformed Cinderella’s castle above gives you a sneak peek into the future of the Magic Kingdom. But before the project is completed, visitors can expect some construction starting in the next few weeks and continuing into the summer. If you have a trip planned, don’t fret: the normal programs like “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” and “Happily Ever After” will go on throughout the renovation process.
And if you have a trip planned for the fall, brace yourselves: everyone’s going to want to take a picture in front of the new castle.
