DIY Garland Made From Paint Swatches

Decorating for the holidays (or even just for the heck of it) is so incredibly fun. The only downfall is that it can also be incredibly expensive or wasteful which is why many people shy away from decorating for each and every holiday. I used to only decorate for winter holidays but I've realized that with a little repurposing of everyday objects and some creativity — I can decorate for every holiday!

While browsing through Modern Parents Messy Kids I found this fantastic DIY garland made from paint swatches. I've always wondered what happens to all of those swatches that people bring home and it's such a shame to think of them being thrown in the trash. Even if you don't have swatches on hand, it's certainly easy to pop into your local paint store and pick some up!

Modern Parents Messy Kids made theirs for Easter decorations and cut them into cute little eggs. While they're super adorable and really festive, you can do this DIY for just about any occasion. Use cookie cutters as a template and the options will be endless!

Just trace a shape onto the back of a swatch (if using large swatches such as Behr you can fit at least two on each swatch). Punch a hole at the top of each cut out shape and string them onto ribbon, yarn or twine.
