DIY Gift Idea: 10 Tablet Case Projects for Every Skill Level

Whether you need to whip up a tablet case for either a 7″ or 10″ tablet for yourself or to gift a friend, we’ve got you covered this week with a several do it yourself projects, ranging from beginner to DIY pro. There’s surely at least one in here that will rock your recipient’s socks off…

For each of the projects listed, we’ve included an estimated skill level needed to complete the project. The skill level are rated 1-4, with “1” requiring “no special skills necessary and kid friendly project,” to “4”, rated for “break out the sewing machine and sewing skills a must.”

3. DIY Composite Book Cover from Lil Blue Boo. Made out of a composition book. Pattern size: 10″ tablet.

4. Cardboard Tablet Case by Instructables user Holly Mann. Made out of cardboard and duct tape. Pattern size: 7″ tablet.

5. Graphic Tablet Case by I Spy DIY. Made out of a fabric tablet case (yeah we know this is kind of cheating) and iron-on transfers. Pattern size: 10″ tablet.

6. Tablet Sleeve by Ann Kelle. Made out of fabric with optional cushioning, zipper, or button closure (there are four patterns). Pattern size: 7″ tablet.

7. Neoprene Sleeve by Sean Rioux. Made out of an existing neoprene case (again a bit of cheating). Pattern size: 7″ tablet.

8. DIY Bubble Case by Crème de la Craft. Made out of a bubble mailer envelope. Pattern size: 7″ – 10″ tablet.

9. Self Cleaning iPad Sleeve by Joelle Alcaidinho. Made out of an old sweater and microfiber pillowcase. Pattern size: 7″ – 10″ tablet.
