I never know what to give as a personal, not-too-pretentious, house warming gift. I think I often resort to a plant, which is pretty unoriginal. Besides, not everyone has a green thumb! But this DIY has opened my eyes to a much cuter - and more thoughtful - little gift.
These plaster houses use recycled milk cartons to get their iconic house shape - isn't that brilliant? They are weighted so could be used as bookends, paper weights or just decor. Brittni, who manages both the Paper & Stitch shop and the blog, came up with this idea for a friend who was moving far away. What a sweet way to celebrate the move, while also giving them something to remember her by.
