It’s vacation time and regardless of your mode of transportation, there undoubtedly will be some down time. To make sure boredom doesn’t turn into bedlam, it’s best to make sure kids have something interesting to concentrate on. An I Spy bottle is the perfect quiet toy that will keep them busy for long stretches of time.

Jill of Meet The Dubiens came up with her own version of the I Spy bottle. All you need is a clear plastic bottle with a lid, an assortment of small toys, and uncooked rice. Don’t forget to take pictures of each toy and put them on cards so your kids will know what objects to look for. Make one for each child before your travels this summer and you’ll be sure to have (some) peace and quiet along the way.
