DIY LED Neck Rest: Traveler Gift Idea Number 28

It can be said that often great ideas come from discomfort (after all necessity is the mother of invention), this project, is one of those ideas. Unhappy with neck pain and eye strain, this Instructables user decided that the answer to his problem would be to combine a reading light with a neck rest. While we don't agree with his neck rest color choice, we do think his idea definitely has merit.

Instructables user Plugable uses his neck rest for more than traveling and decided to improve its usefulness by adding an LED light.

To make this project you will need 2 LED lights, wire, double AA battery holder, a zipper, thread, and a push-button switch. The tools that are required are a soldering iron, needle, scissors, and glue gun.

Although it is not in the most aesthetically appealing package, we like the idea behind this project and think it would make a great gift for the frequent traveler. It would also make a swell gift for those like the maker of this DIY, who often read in dim lighting situations and appreciate the comfort of the neck rest.
