I spent a lot of time this summer looking at various DIY desks for my home office. My requirements included it being space conscious, have the ability to move out of the way easily and to be a standing desk. This desk definitely fits two out of the three needs, though I suspect with a little extra measuring, this could be made as a standing desk, as well.
Fresh Home Ideas' tutorial to build this desk takes about a day and from $50 - $100. A hand built desk for under $100 instead of some piece of pressed wood junk from a big box store? This proves it's possible to have something that's custom-made to your height (ergonomics anyone?), inexpensive and pleasing to the eye. Oh, and did I mention that it's portable?
