Does your kid's room have a window valance? When my boys were little, they each had valances in their rooms; I felt that it made the windows with blinds feel a little more put together, and I found ones that matched my crib sheets, so it worked perfectly. When they got older, though, the valances fell away, and everything I saw was either boring or too young, so I got rid of them. If only I'd seen this DIY for a wooden valance, which I never would've thought of on my own.
Mallory from Classy Clutter decided to create this valance because she really wanted some vintage airplane art, but didn't need anything else hanging on the wall. The valance space was perfect for her to customize without taking up precious wall space. The process is amazingly easy; all you need is a printed image and Mod Podge, and you can transfer the picture to wood. You aren't actually sticking the paper to the wood, you are actually transferring the image, which makes all the difference.
Mallory walks you through the process so it should be easy as pie. It took her less than two hours to construct and install, so what are you waiting for?
