We love a good DIY project as much as the next person, but what we love more than simply doing it yourself, is when those results look like super professional. We ran across this easy DIY placemat made from a few yards of burlap and a little help from some freezer paper. Dress up your table for the holidays with these simple steps.

We've talked about freezer paper before here at Apartment Therapy, but the method is so versatile it can be used practically anywhere fabric graces your home.

Over at Bloesom Kids, there's a fabulous tutorial to guide you through the process of making these fabulous placemats to adorn your table. It utilizes burlap, found at your local fabric store (and it's usually pretty darn inexpensive) and a little craft paint.

Can't you just see a whole table lined with these? Even if you're not into apples or even bright colors, why not try your hand at simple geometric shapes and neutral colors to give your holiday feasts something to really stand out against.

Thanks Bloesom!
