Lots of crafty things were happening around my house this weekend. After coming across a bag of letterpress blocks at a flea market, my boyfriend and I found a way to embrace our love of typography by displaying them as homemade art. Here's how it all came together.
Like an intricate puzzle, we assembled the blocks until the shape and pattern was perfect. We considered arranging them in a less traditional shape but ultimately decided that the best way to highlight the texture of the letters was to keep the outline simple. .
Using MDF (fiberboard) cut to size and wood epoxy, we transfered and glued each letter into place
At some point, we plan to frame our masterpiece with some rustic wood so it looks a little more finished. It was a pretty straightforward project, but it turned out so well that I'm already brainstorming ideas for more original art.
