What I Love About My Small Home:
Though it's a studio, I have a full size kitchen, which is so important to me. Plus, the owner kept the original support beams in place in the middle of my space. It allows me to easily separate the living and bedroom areas but it's not closed off. The open, light-filled feeling is consistent throughout.
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
Make units. Make sure the items on your countertops are balanced with items on the walls above them. Balance is everything.

Keep the color scheme simple. I like to use naturals - grey, white, black - and add one punch of color throughout. In this space, that color is French blue.

Have fun with it! People sometimes look at items and think "oh this doesn't go with my decor." Nonsense! If you like it, display it. It's your home, you should fill it with items you love!
