Is there anything better than swinging? Whether it's the freedom of furiously pumping your legs, trying to get your swing level with the top of the bars, a lazy afternoon spent swaying in a hammock or rocking in a chair on the front porch, there's something about that back and forth motion that taps a primitive chord in all of us.

With the help of a few scraps of wood and some chains, This Old House reader Kodie Ketchbaw transformed an old door into a swinging daybed that would be just as welcome in a city apartment as on a country home's front porch. It's a daybed that we wouldn't mind spending the night on. For more reader reuse ideas, click here/
