Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia empire isn’t the only cool thing about Waco, Texas. The founder of Dr Pepper soda built his empire in Waco, too, and now you can stay at the gorgeous Victorian-era house that Dr Pepper founder Wade Morrison built in 1885.

According to the house’s listing on Airbnb, the home was purchased and renovated in the early 2000s by Christian rock singer David Crowder. Since then, the current owner, Jed, has maintained and upgraded the space accordingly, and it’s not a spot you’ll want to leave once you check in.

The Dr Pepper House is located less than a mile from Downtown Waco and Magnolia Silos, so it’s the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with your group of friends. It can comfortably sleep 12 guests in five bedrooms and has huge living spaces, including an outdoor patio and pool area.

Morrison built the home the same year Dr Pepper was first sold commercially. The soft drink was created by pharmacist Charles Alderton, who worked at Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store in Waco in the late 1880s. Morrison was the first to test Alderton’s creation, and the drink was originally served at the store’s soda fountain and called a “Waco.”

Alderton gave the recipe (which remains a secret) to Morrison, who eventually gave it the name Dr Pepper. So, this home truly is the house that Dr Pepper built.

You can book a stay at the Dr Pepper House over on Airbnb. You and your pals will have the entire place to yourself during your stay, and bookings start at $1,243 per night. (And yes, there may just be a few cans of Dr Pepper waiting for you in the fridge.)
